Athens is a city where ancient history meets modern life.

Known as the birthplace of Western civilization, Athens is full of famous landmarks like the Parthenon, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Ancient Agora.

Even though Athens is the capital of Greece, it is not as large as other European capitals.
Athens has a much smaller and compact center, making it easy to access and explore.  

Most major sights, from ancient ruins to vibrant neighbourhoods with cafes, bars, shops, restaurants or traditional taverns, are within walking distance from a metro station or other means of public transportation.

Easy Access to Transportation

Ampelokipi metro station is within walking distance, where you can access Line 3 (Blue Line), Airport – Doukissis Plakentias – Dimotiko Theatro. 

Line 3 offers direct access to the Airport, Syntagma Square, the Monastiraki and Keramikos areas, as well as theport and the center of Piraeus. Line 3 also provides a connection with Line 2 (Red Line) “Anthoupoli – Elliniko” offering easy access to the Acropolis Museum and Line 1 (Green Line) “Pireaus – Kifisia” covering other areas of the city.

Buses that stop outside or very close to our hotel, will take you directly to the historic center of Athens or to the metro station “Ampelokipi”, giving you easy access to landmarks such as the Acropolis, the Ancient Agora, and Plaka.
 

Taxis in Greece are also very affordable, especially compared to many European countries, giving you even more flexibility to get around.  In just 10-15 minutes, a taxi can take you to the historic center and you can explore Athens’ iconic landmarks.
