However, Easter can still be enjoyable and special, even in the city. 
So, for those planning to spend this year's Easter in Athens, we have gathered information about everything you can do during this beloved festive period.

Procession of the Epitaph - Good Friday, May 3rd 2024

If you wish to participate in the procession of the Epitaph on Good Friday, May 3rd, the nearest church to the hotel is that of Agios Eleftherios, which is only 250 meters away.

A special and alternative Procession of the Epitaph takes place at Kaisariani Monastery, which is held at noon, due to the fact that the monastery is located in the heart of Mount Hymettus Natural Park, where access is prohibited after sunset.

 

Resurrection at Lycabettus Hill - Holy Saturday, May 4th 2024

On Easter night you can attend the service at St. George's chapel on Lycabettus Hill. 
The panoramic view of the Acropolis as well as the entire city, combined with fireworks filling up Athens' sky will offer you a unique experience.

Things do to during your Easter visit in Athens:

  • Visit the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
